The MMA league introduces PFL Rewards, a next-gen loyalty system that gamifies fan engagement and brings blockchain to the fight game New York — The Professional Fighters League (PFL) has launched PFL Rewards, a global fan engagement platform built in collaboration with tech company Futureverse. Available now on iOS and Android, the platform rewards fans for participating in the PFL ecosystem and marks a bold move into blockchain-powered loyalty and immersive experiences. This initiative positions PFL as the first major MMA league to integrate web3 technology at scale. Fans across 160 countries can now earn points for activities like downloading the app, streaming live fights, submitting predictions, or watching highlight clips. Points can be redeemed for real-world rewards including exclusive merch, event tickets, and VIP access. “PFL is redefining what it means to be a modern sports league,” said Mike Chioditti, SVP of New Business at PFL. “We have 650 million fans globally, many of them young and tech-savvy. With Futureverse’s technology, we’re giving them a destination that extends far beyond fight night.” Turning Viewers into Participants At the heart of the platform is The Root Network, Futureverse’s proprietary Layer 1 blockchain that enables secure, interoperable, and scalable digital interactions. PFL Rewards is designed to convert passive viewership into active participation, creating a feedback loop where engagement is consistently recognized and rewarded. The rollout is part of a broader effort to meet fans where they are—on their phones, across social media, and increasingly in the digital economy. It also reflects a shift in how sports properties think about monetization, retention, and brand loyalty. “Today’s fans want to participate, personalize, and be recognized for their engagement,” said Aaron McDonald, CEO of Futureverse. “With PFL, we are building a blueprint for how sports leagues can bring fragmented audiences into a unified, gamified ecosystem.” Enterprise Tech for Combat Sports PFL partnered with LiveLike, a veteran in fan engagement platforms, to help shape the strategy and lead technical development. LiveLike’s AI-first loyalty infrastructure has already been used by brands like LIV Golf, Chelsea FC, and the New York Mets. “PFL is pioneering a new era of fan engagement—where loyalty, interactivity, and real-world value are integrated from day one,” said Miheer Walavalkar, CEO and Co-founder of LiveLike. Through LiveLike’s tools, the PFL app rewards micro-engagements and unlocks personalized experiences at scale, helping to transform fan behavior into long-term retention. What's Next: Digital Collectibles and Token-Gated Experiences This is only the beginning. Future updates to the PFL Rewards platform will introduce features such as digital collectibles, token-gated commerce, onchain ticketing, and custom experiences. These additions will further integrate blockchain into the league’s global fanbase and set a new benchmark for how MMA connects with audiences online and in person. By positioning itself as a tech-forward, globally distributed league, PFL is setting the stage for more than just fights. It is creating a participatory, digital-native environment that could influence how all sports leagues think about the next generation of fan loyalty.
