The legendary strategy franchise enters the Web3 era with digital ownership, card trading, and cross-platform gameplay on iOS and Android SYDNEY, – Ubisoft and Immutable have unveiled Might & Magic: Fates—a next-generation strategy card game rooted in the storied Might & Magic universe. Designed for iOS and Android, the new title aims to blend tactical depth with modern accessibility while integrating player-owned digital assets. Ubisoft, creators of renowned franchises like Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry, brings its legacy of immersive worldbuilding and strategic gameplay to the mobile Web3 space. In Fates, players will build and refine faction-specific decks from a library of hundreds of cards, utilizing legendary creatures and heroic champions to rise through the ranks. The focus is clear: victory through skill, deck synergy, and strategic decision-making. "As one of the most iconic franchises in strategy gaming, Might & Magic has a rich legacy that we're thrilled to expand upon," said Nicolas Pouard, VP of Ubisoft’s Strategic Innovation Lab. “This game will deliver a deep and rewarding experience for both long-time fans and new players alike, staying true to what has made the series special.” Web3 Integration Without the Learning Curve The development of Might & Magic: Fates is being powered by Immutable, the Web3 platform behind blockchain-native hits like Gods Unchained and Guild of Guardians. Immutable’s robust infrastructure allows Ubisoft to deliver a blockchain-enhanced experience that doesn’t compromise on speed or user experience. Players will be able to truly own and trade their cards while enjoying the same fluid gameplay expected from traditional titles. "Ubisoft’s vision for Might & Magic: Fates aligns perfectly with our mission to enhance game ownership and player engagement,” said Justin Hulog, Chief Studio Officer at Immutable. “As a pioneer in cross-platform, cross-genre gaming and one of the first major studios to seriously explore blockchain integration through real IP, Ubisoft is the ideal partner for this collaboration.” A Pivotal Moment for Strategy and Web3 Gaming The game signals more than just another addition to a long-running franchise. It’s a strategic leap into player-driven economies, where the lines between collecting, playing, and owning are intentionally blurred. For Immutable, the partnership solidifies its position as the go-to infrastructure for large-scale Web3 games. For Ubisoft, it reflects a broader willingness to embrace emerging technologies that empower its player base. Gameplay footage, card mechanics, and pre-registration details will be revealed in the coming months. Ubisoft’s Nicolas Pouard and Immutable co-founder Robbie Ferguson are set to appear on the Amphitheatre Stage on May 1st at 4:30 PM to discuss the collaboration and showcase early previews. As the gaming world watches the intersection of traditional IPs and blockchain evolve, Might & Magic: Fates may well become a case study in how legacy meets innovation—and how Web3 might finally gain mainstream traction through games people already love.
